Lucas County LEPC Meeting Minutes

March 7, 2002

The meeting was called to order at 1:30 PM.

1. Introductions.

2. January 17, 2002 minutes were approved. Motion by Gary Bennett, second by Vince Davis.

3. Tom Barnhizer made a motion to suspend the minutes, seconded by Brad Roy. Motion carried.

Old Business:

1. No new information on the full time position.

2. Trailer update.

3. Facility Workshops:

Ø May 7^th, 16^th and 23^rd, 2002, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

Ø Agenda.

Ø Need press release to include all surrounding cities and new Mayor.

Committee Reports:

Grants, Finance, Plan Review and Information Coordinator: No reports.

Training: Vince Davis is the new Chair. Vince plans to look into LEPC training needs. Springfield Township requested a reimbursement of $600.

Exercise: Most exercises that are planned are WMD. LCLEPC can not receive credit for WMD exercises. BP will be having a training drill this year. Sylvania has a company that is interested.

Compliance: Reporting problems and revenue were discussed.

New Business:

Ø Need a new contract employee or an update.

Ø TMAA update from new Chair, Chris Herman (BP).

Ø New member application received from Chief George France.

Ø E-mail notification sooner.

Ø Discussion of possible training opportunities.

Ø Discussion of liability of experts, chemists, etc., that are called to assist on a hazmat spill.

Ø Next meeting: June 6, 2002 at 1:30 PM.

Ø Adjournment.
